Pete’s Old Fashion Tomato Pies: Reviews & Ratings
Absolutely worth the hour drive to this pizza joint. They stick out from all other pizza places. They bake their pizzas with the cheese THEN the sauce. It's in the shape of a rectangle. You can get a half pizza, piece or entire pie. Very affordable food. Love love love this delicious pizza .
I love there pizza, it is like a tomato pie. I ask for mine to be crispy. If I am at the Columbus Farmers Market, I am stopping at Pete's. Not as cheesy as other places. Oh and you have to try the birch beer! FYI that this place does not have water.
Best. Tomato. Pies. EVER! Pretty much one of the only reasons to go to Columbus Market. Always hot and fresh. Whole pies (10 slices) are about 18 dollars and a half pie is I believe 11 dollars. Make sure to wash it all down with some red cream soda. Once you get one of their pizzas you become a regular!
Best Pizza ever! Their pizza truck use use to come to Roebling when I was a kid. Sadly we moved away in 1996 to Tacoma wa, and still no other pizza has came close to Pete's pizza. They set the standard and pretty awesome they are still making pizza. I hope to get to enjoy a slice once more.
100/100 every single time! Every week while selling as a vendor here at the flea market, I can’t help but grab a pie. Even as I’m leaving the place people stop to ask where I got it because it smells so good. Once you start going you won’t be able to stop! Only pizza I’ve eaten since losing over 100 pounds over a year ago because it’s light, not greasy and not filling to the point where you won’t be able to finish the pie yourself. Best pizza on the planet. They nail it everytime. I’ll recommend this place until the death of me!
Square pie with cheese then sauce. Easier to call ahead. Typical wait time is 20-30 minutes. It's the perfect car pizza. By that I mean you open the hatch of your suv or mini van and stand outside leaning forward so you don't dribble sauce all over your clothes. Bring a roll of paper towels! This pizza never makes it out of the parking lot. It's good hot or cold. I grab a pie every time I visit the flea market.
Our friend recommending to try it and described it looks like Sicilian pizza. I was like - I don't care for it much , especially I don't like tomato sauce on my pizza much... Big mistake, I shouldn't judge before I tried it - after I tried it , I was in love with it - very soft very mild very enjoyable... we are definitely coming back for this wonderful slice of pizza pie..!
I traveled an hour up and back for this pizza . I can’t believe the negative comments. I love this pizza . I think it is delicious. The soft and fluffy Sicilian style dough the sauce is on top and the cheese underneath for all of those saying they have no cheese . I would suggest that you ask for light sauce if you don’t want to much sauce . As far as the service maybe say hi or a smile to people giving you business goes a long way . But the pizza to me is really good .
